Built from the source

From the exam board’s specification to a working course

We start with the published specification — the document the exam is built from. Every stage is bound to that source, so the model cannot invent a topic the specification doesn’t contain.

That is how a new course is built in an afternoon, not a term.

AI, used carefully

How the AI is kept safe

Each of these is how the product works today. Phoque is built around clear AI disclosure and people staying in charge of product rules.

Checked both ways

Chat, lesson answers and exam practice are checked before anything reaches the AI, with tighter thresholds for children, and so is every AI reply. If something your child writes suggests they are struggling, Phoque points them to trained help in words written in advance.

Real help, never generated

If a child writes something in chat that suggests they are in crisis, the reply is fixed text we wrote, with UK helplines such as Childline and Samaritans. Concerns are logged for our team to review; nothing is sent to anyone automatically.

A pause button for the AI

Child-facing AI can be paused instantly. If something goes wrong, it pauses rather than carrying on.

Private by default

Safety records keep the category and severity of a concern, never your child’s words.

You stay in charge

A child cannot start without a parent’s consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Honest about marking

Marking is automatic. Answers it is unsure about are marked as needing review rather than given a score. Practice papers are labelled as AI-generated, not official exam-board papers.
