Phoque is an adaptive tutor for International GCSE French, Spanish and German. It builds the course from the exam board’s own specification, teaches to it, and shows you where your child really is.

It gets to know your child
Every answer, hint and second attempt tells us something. Phoque tracks how your child responds to hints, where they struggle, the effort they put in and how confident they are. A placement check finds the right starting point, and when your child is stuck, hints and help step up.
It’s a picture that gets sharper with use, not a fixed label. We don’t claim that matching a “learning style” improves results.

AI, used carefully
Safe by design, and honest about it
Checked both ways
Chat, lesson answers and exam practice are checked before anything reaches the AI, and so is every AI reply. A child who seems to be struggling is pointed to trained help, in words we wrote in advance.
Real help, never generated
If a child writes something in chat that suggests they are in crisis, the reply is fixed text we wrote, with UK helplines such as Childline and Samaritans. Concerns are logged for our team to review; nothing is sent to anyone automatically.
A pause button for the AI
We can switch off child-facing AI instantly, for one school or for everyone. A fault pauses it rather than leaving it running.
Grounded in the specification
Lessons are generated only from the exam board specification the course is built on. Anything the system is unsure about stays a draft that learners never see.
Private by default
Safety records keep the category of a concern, never your child’s words, and a child cannot start without a parent’s consent.
Honest about marking
Marking is automatic. Answers it is unsure about are marked as needing review rather than given a score. Practice papers are labelled as AI-generated, not official exam-board papers.
