Phoque is an adaptive tutor for Pearson Edexcel International GCSE French, Spanish and German. Here is why it exists.
Where it started
A daughter who wanted to go early
Andrew Kilshaw’s daughter wanted to sit her French International GCSE a year early. He looked for something that would teach to that exact exam, adapt to her, and show him honestly how she was doing. He couldn’t find it.
So he built it — as a parent first. Every feature since has come from families telling us what wasn’t working, and French has been joined by Spanish and German.

Estimated grades come with their uncertainty. We don’t publish results we can’t stand behind, and we tell you what the AI does and doesn’t do.
Specification first
Every course starts from the exam board’s published specification, not a generic language syllabus. If it isn’t in the specification, it isn’t in the course.
Parents know their children best
Phoque gives you a clear picture and a suggestion. What happens at home is your call.

A small company, answerable to you
Phoque is operated by TalentOptima Ltd, a UK company. We’re teaching a small group of families while we build, which means you can reach the people who make it.
